Ever since we can remember, we’ve made Μαρτη (March) bracelets with our mom for friends and family. This year, we’re excited to share this special tradition with you!
In Greece, it’s customary to tie this bracelet on your wrist on the first day of March to celebrate the arrival of spring. The red thread symbolizes rosy cheeks kissed by the spring sun, life, and passion, while the white represents purity.
At the end of March, the bracelet is traditionally removed and tied to a branch, hoping a bird will use it to build a nest for the season.
